Indo-Fijian-Canadian artist Shannon Karan relocated from Vancouver, BC, to Toronto, ON, in 2020 to pursue her passion as a dance artist. Formerly a Youth Corrections Officer, Shannon's transformative journey has led her to embrace her authentic self and deepen her connection to her art. Starting with Bollywood at age 5, Shannon has explored various street styles and achieved notable milestones, including top placements at the World Hip Hop International Dance Competition and performances at Bard on the Beach's Shakespeare production. Her recent accomplishments highlight her versatility and collaborative spirit, working with organizations like RISE and Urban Arts Toronto, as well as local artists such as Masta Inferno and Achanté. Shannon's talents extend beyond dance, as she explores visual art, acting, and rollerskating, embodying creativity across diverse mediums. Through her artistry and community engagement, Shannon aims to inspire and uplift others, emerging as a dynamic leader in Toronto's artistic landscape.
