1. Responsible for composing original music.
2. Responsible for writing the lyrics or work with a lyricist.
3. Record and transcribe musical ideas into notes on scored music paper. 
4. Creates musical and tonal structure, applying elements of music theory, such as instrumental and vocal capabilities.
5. Attend rehearsals.
6. Provide creative input to actors, musicians, and directors.
