1. Reads the script and works together with the director about how each scene should be filmed. 
2. Conduct extra research into different styles and motifs which relate to the subject matter of the script, and liaise with the director to discuss their creative ideas.
3. Order filming and lighting equipment.
4. Oversee the selection and manipulation of technical equipment to create striking images on the screen.
