1. Responsible for making sure the film is processed to exact specifications.

2. Responsible for physically operating the camera and maintaining composition and camera angles throughout a given scene.

3. Coordinates the crew and works with the director to make sure each scene is set up and shot to match the director's vision of the story.

4. Works with other departments, like sound and lighting, to coordinate production needs.
