->  responsible for the visual concept of the film.
-> work closely with the Director and Producer to create the design style for aspects such as sets, graphics, props, lighting and costumes. 
-> reviews the script and then consults with the producer, director and others to determine the visual elements needed to bring the story to life
-> outline a color palette, period, textures, and tone for all of the artists to reference.
-> participates in setting the production’s budget
