Logline: After her instructor encourages her to compete in Muay Thai, a talented, but timid, Filipino-Canadian, decides to go for it, despite her strict parents forbidding it.
Premise: A timid, but talented, Filipino-Canadian who still lives with her parents, wants to compete in a Muay Thai competition, but her strict parents won’t allow her to. She finds herself in a completely new situation in which she learns to fight for what makes her happy, believe in herself, and falls in love.
Requirements: Filipino-Canadian. Ideally someone with experience in Muay Thai or other martial arts/athletics.
Grace Rodriguez is a 20 to 25-year-old introverted Filipino living in a multicultural city in Canada. She learned basic Latin dancing from her dad and transformed from a non-athletic individual to an athletic Muay Thai fighter. Grace's primary goal is to compete in Muay Thai, driven by her desire for self-empowerment and personal growth. Along her journey, she seeks love and acceptance, not only for herself but also yearns for understanding and support from her parents. Through Muay Thai, Grace finds the strength to confront her inner struggles and forge a path of self-discovery, intertwining her physical aspirations with her emotional journey.
